Weekly Challenge - Introduction

14/2/2017

I'm going to be adding a Weekly Challenge feature article to the site to encourage fathers to step up and do something different with the express intent of being better fathers and men of God.

Meeting challenges is what causes us to adapt and overcome. We have to improve in some way in order to prevail. Getting better at being a father and/or connecting with God is certainly a goal worthy of effort and struggle.

If you find that a particular challenge is too easy for you, then step up to the challenge and find a way to make it tougher.

If a challenge is too difficult, try anyway. Even if you fall short of the goal, merely the act of trying will help improve you and make you better.

This week's challenge is to ask your son what he thinks about something and to just listen. Don't point out the flaws or mistakes in what he says. Just listen. Ask him why he thinks that and what other thoughts led him to hold that belief.

You can ask him about anything from girls to politics to music to sports. It's all fair game, but whatever topic you ask him about has to be something that he is interested in.
